About James

James Suter is a Director, DP, and Photographer based in Los Angeles. Almost never without a camera he seeks to explore the world with an eye for sincere and genuine moments, often intrigued by the odd or surreal things that manifest around him. He is a staunch humanist that believes the power of cinema and art can help people understand the world better, become more connected, overcome boundaries, and empathize deeper for the human condition and our planet.

His first documentary feature Tiwahe had its world premiere at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival where it was nominated for the Big Sky award.
